About The School
We have been a Community College since 1993 and we are committed to the principle of Life Long Learning for all our students, whatever their age. Since September 2000 we have been a Specialist College in Sports and, as a result of being identified as a High Performing Specialist School, in September 2004, we were awarded a second specialism of Business & Enterprise, an achievement of which we are particularly proud. Our vision is as follows:
“Good to Outstanding”
Hailsham Community College aims to create a learning culture which fosters high aspirations for all. Students will have an entitlement to high quality and diverse experiences where their successes are both recognised and celebrated. Achievement and standards will exceed national benchmarks with assessment for learning driving teachers’ planning and learners’ short to long term targets. The language of progress will be a universal one that is shared and understood by the college community.
Outcomes of self-review, at all levels, will lead to celebration of strengths and drive improvement. This process will build capacity, impacting on learning throughout the college and empowering learners to actively engage in and value positive personal development.
The collaborative work of the college will promote and support the development of healthy lifestyles within the community through providing a full range of services meeting the local needs.
